The
Lakeland Terrace Hotel, a ten
story building, was originally constructed in 1926 and is listed on the
National Historic Register. The building had been closed and abandoned
for many years.
The project consisted of a complete renovation of both the interior and
exterior of the building. The guestroom floors had to be completely
gutted due to the existing condition. Careful attention was given in
the reconstruction to maintain the historic atmosphere. Color schemes
and interior furnishings were selected to create the ambiance of the
era.
One of the
first levels, the original restaurant area was renovated to create a
“bistro” atmosphere. The restaurant seating flowed into the original
two story lobby in order to add more seating capacity. A new front
desk and lobby area was added adjacent to the dining area. Wherever
possible, existing elements were left in place and refurbished. The
second level contains meeting space with a pre-function bar located in
the mezzanine overlooking the first floor. The exterior was restored
to its original design and repainted in colors closely matching the
first color scheme.
